The Return
Introduction
You’ve come through the Journey. You’ve been shaped, stretched, broken, and rebuilt. You’ve discovered who you are in Christ. You are a different person--a new creation. So now what? What do you do next?
In the final message of The Journey series, we explored The Return—the calling to take our new identity and our story of reconciliation and bring them to the places and people we love. We looked at Acts 2:1-37, where Peter, once just a fisherman, stands boldly to preach at Pentecost.

Study Questions
We weren’t meant to keep our Journey to ourselves. We were meant to go back to the people and places we love and share our stories. Have you ever been somewhere and not wanted to come back? What would have happened back home?
Read Matthew 28:19. What is the first command of the Great Commission? Why is it important to learn how to belong in the place God has put us in or is leading us to?
On the day of Pentecost, Peter found his voice. But the power of his voice didn’t come from him. Where did it come from? Why do we struggle to let the Holy Spirit give voice to our faith?
Read Matthew 28:20; Hebrews 13:20-21; and 2 Corinthians 9:8. Last week, Pastor Keven said, “God will always provide you the resources to accomplish the goal he’s assigned to you.” How is this an exciting thing? How is it terrifying?
When Peter preached at Pentecost, he told the story of Jesus. When we share our faith, we can overcomplicate things. What are some ways we’ve overcomplicated evangelism? What is your biggest fear or hangup when it comes to sharing your faith?
Sharing our faith is nothing more than telling our story and then telling the story of Jesus. What are some ways you can share your story this week? How can the church better equip you to be prepared to share your story?
CALL TO ACTION: Memorize 2 Corinthians 9:8. Practice telling your story with someone you trust. Look for opportunities to tell your story to someone who needs to hear it.
