We're In This Together

Introduction

In We’re In This Together, we kick off our series Thrive Together: All In on Faith, Unity, and Growth by diving into Ephesians 1:1-14. Paul’s powerful words remind us that God’s plan for redemption, adoption, and inheritance has always included us—Jew and Gentile alike. Discover how we are Planned by the Father, Rescued by the Son, and Secured by the Spirit, and why the journey of faith is meant to be walked together.

Discussion Questions

Outline

  1. Planned

    • Stop trying to prove you belong and let God show you that you already do.

  2. Rescued

    • The gospel will never reach a divided world through a divided church.

  3. Secured

    • God doesn’t just free you—He makes you family.

Study Questions

  1. What’s the most “all in” thing you’ve ever committed? How’d that go?

  2. Paul says we were chosen by God and adopted into His family. How does it change your perspective to know that you’ve always been wanted by God? What makes it hard for people to believe they can be truly accepted by God?

  3. In what ways can the church do a better job of showing people they are wanted by God even if their lives aren’t “cleaned up?”

  4. Why is it important to remember that our redemption is not just personal but also communal? What does it look like to live out our freedom together in a divided world?

  5. Paul says the Holy Spirit is a "down payment" of our inheritance. What does this mean? How should having confidence in our inheritance shape your confidence to share our faith?

  6. If restoring you brings God joy, what does that say about His heart for you? How should that shape the way we view our own worth and the worth of others?

  7. CALL TO ACTION: Memorize Romans 5:8. Talk with someone about the things you have or have had the hardest time letting go of. Get together with other believers and do something fun! Invite someone on the “outside” to join you.
